Maternity Cover for External Relations Officer – Temporary

An exciting opportunity is now available to join the Morrison’s Academy’s External Relations Department to cover maternity leave.

Our External Relations Department is responsible for the Marketing, Admissions, Alumni and Development activities of the school. The department is one of the school’s key commercial support functions. We are looking for a driven and multi-skilled individual to join our team on a temporary contract as an External Relations Officer.

About the role – Temporary Contract – External Relations Officer

In our department, no two days are the same and as an External Relations Officer you should be willing to turn your hand to anything; from conducting market research, analysing our website’s analytics, gathering content for video, writing a press release, developing a social media plan, to taking photos at a school event. This would be the perfect role if you are looking to learn new skills in a marketing environment; you are a student with a gap year or you are looking to get back into a workplace environment.

About you

You may hold a marketing or business degree or equivalent professional qualification and/or have professional experience gained in a service oriented industry. More importantly, you will be an enthusiastic self starter who enjoys a challenge. You will be looking for a role that will stretch your capabilities and allow you to develop your skills. You will be personable and able to represent the school in different environments and with a variety of people. You will also have a creative flair and an eye for detail. You will have a natural ability to translate marketing messages and stories that drive interest in our school, supporting our pupil recruitment and retention efforts.

What we can offer you

A great team and flexibility: Working within Morrison’s Academy’s External Relations Department you will be part of a small, friendly and supportive team who work collaboratively to get the job done. The role is 35 hours per week, basic hours are normally worked between 08:30 – 16:30, Monday to Friday, but a flexible approach to the role is possible, as is a job share for the right candidates.

New skills: As no two days are the same, you will have an opportunity to gain a wide range of skills, from digital marketing to event organisation to client relationship management.

An excellent package: The Salary of this role will be linked to the Morrison’s Academy Support Staff Pay Scale and will be dependent on experience. Excellent staff discount; membership of pension scheme; free after school care and 40 days annual leave inclusive of public holidays.
