Pupils Raise Over £7,000 for Perth & Kinross Foodbank

Twenty five primary and secondary pupils have raised more than £7,000 for Perth & Kinross Foodbank after completing two demanding Across Scotland expeditions covering almost 700km by bike and on foot.

The pupils took on an extraordinary physical challenge, travelling across Scotland, scaling two Munros and traversing the Cairngorms National Park as they raised funds for the local foodbank.

This week, the group welcomed Lori from Perth & Kinross Foodbank, who visited to thank the pupils personally for their efforts and to share more about the vital work carried out by the organisation.

Lori provided a fascinating insight into the challenges facing local families and explained why the coming winter months are a particular concern for the foodbank. The pupils also heard how their donation will help the organisation continue supporting people in the local community.

The fundraising achievement is a particularly significant milestone for expedition leader Mr Nicoll, who has now led his 20th expedition.

Over the course of his expeditions, Mr Nicoll has taken more than 400 pupils on adventures covering over 7,000km by bike, foot and canoe, while collectively raising more than £225,000 for charity.

The latest expeditions continue a remarkable legacy that combines physical challenge and adventure with a strong commitment to helping others.

While the pupils faced considerable physical demands during their journeys, the opportunity to turn their efforts into meaningful support for people in their local community provided an important purpose behind every kilometre travelled.

We cannot always change the world, but we can help change someone’s world.
