Morrison’s Academy to Host First researchED Conference in Perthshire

Morrison’s Academy in Crieff will host Perthshire’s first researchED on its campus next month (Saturday, 9 May 2026), bringing together teachers, researchers, academics and school leaders from across Scotland for a day of evidence-informed professional learning.

Part of the internationally recognised researchED movement, researchED Crieff aims to bridge the gap between educational research and classroom practice. It will feature a wide range of talks and workshops focused on effective pedagogy, practical classroom strategies and challenging common myths in education.

The programme includes keynote speaker Haili Hughes, alongside a strong line-up of contributors such as Carl Hendrick, Bruce Robertson and Nick Pointer, with further speakers still to be announced. Staff from Morrison’s Academy will also play a key role in delivering sessions, showcasing the school’s commitment to professional learning and innovation in teaching.

Delegates will have opportunities to engage with current research, exchange ideas and build connections with colleagues from across the education sector. The event is open to educators at all stages of their careers.

Emma McCormick, Depute Rector at Morrison’s Academy, said: “We are very excited to be hosting researchED Crieff and are ready to welcome colleagues from across the profession to Morrison’s Academy. This event is a fantastic opportunity for teachers to engage with high-quality research, reflect on their practice and take away ideas that can make a real difference in the classroom. We are particularly proud to have our own staff contributing to the programme, sharing the excellent practice happening every day in our school.”

The conference will take place at Morrison’s Academy in Crieff, with lunch and refreshments provided.
