Morrison’s Academy is proud to have been named a finalist for Regional Independent School of the Year: North in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026.

The recognition follows the Academy’s commendation earlier this year and celebrates the impact of Across Scotland, an expedition programme introduced to Morrison’s Academy in 2020 by Assistant Rector, Mr Nicoll.

Across Scotland provides pupils with the opportunity to experience the country beyond the classroom, using Scotland’s diverse landscapes and communities as a setting for learning, exploration and personal development. Through the programme, pupils develop independence, resilience, teamwork and confidence, while gaining a deeper appreciation of the environment and the country in which they live and learn.

The programme has become an important part of the Morrison’s Academy experience, giving pupils the opportunity to challenge themselves, discover new places and learn through real-world experiences.

Being selected as a finalist is a wonderful recognition of the work that goes into making Across Scotland such a valuable part of school life and reflects the commitment of our pupils and staff who continue to embrace the opportunities the programme provides.

The winner of the Regional Independent School of the Year: North category will be announced at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards ceremony in October.

We would like to congratulate everyone who has contributed to the continued success of Across Scotland and helped make this recognition possible.
