FAQs

Morrison’s Academy is an all-through day school for boys and girls age 2-18. Pupils are invited to join at any age however, our key entry points are Nursery, Primary One, Primary Six and Secondary One.

Most children will join the school at the start of session in August, however, occasionally there are spaces in the required year groups and pupils can join mid-session.

Our class sizes are small by design, which enables a personalised learning experience for your child. We actively encourage our pupils to strive for the highest and broaden their horizons to all of life’s possibilities.

Our pupils excel in the Scottish examination system. They can choose from a broad range of subjects combined with an extensive choice of co-curricular activities, trips and exchanges which ensure a broad educational experience.

Our motto – Ad Summa Tendendum (striving for the highest) – sets the tone for all we do.

Please also see our Values page here.

Morrison’s Academy’s doors are always open should you wish to come and see what we do. We understand that choosing the right school for your family is an important decision. At Morrison’s Academy our Admissions Registrar, Catriona, is ready to guide you through the admissions process and help you determine if Morrison’s Academy is the right fit for your child.

Morrison’s Academy is an academically selective school. From Primary One – Three, your child will enjoy a taster day where their work will be assessed. They will also have an informal chat with our Primary Headteacher to help us gauge where your child is academically. From Primary Four and up your child will sit an entrance assessment. For entry to our Senior School, your child will also have an informal interview with our Rector prior to an offer being made.

We operate a number of pupil bus services and continue to explore further routes to help support our families and make travelling to our school as accessible as possible. Please see our transport page for details of current routes.
